- ½ pound butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ pound chopped almonds
- 1 egg white, beaten lightly
with fork

Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg yolk, cinnamon, flour,
salt, and one-half of the almonds. Divide dough into two parts.
Pat into two greased 8-inch-square cake pans. Brush unbeaten
egg white over each pan. Cover with remaining almonds. Bake in
350° oven for 30 minutes. Cool. Cut into squares, and remove
from pan. |
