- 2 egg whites, room temperature
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 3/4 cup sugar

- 8-ounce package semisweet chocolate

- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup chopped nut meats

Beat egg whites with salt until frothy; add cream of tartar and
beat until stiff. Add sugar about one tablespoon at a time, beating
after each addition, and continue beating until mixture stands
in stiff peaks. Fold in remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoons
onto well-buttered cookie sheet. Bake at 300° for 25 minutes. |
