CHOCOLATE PIE

  • 9-inch pie crust
  • 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 3 well-beaten eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soft bread crumbs
  • 1½ cups milk
  • ½ cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup whipped cream
Line a pie tin with pie crust. Pinch edge with fingers to make fancy. Shave chocolate and melt over hot water. Add sugar, crumbs, and chocolate to eggs. Mix thoroughly. Stir in milk. Turn into pie tin. Bake at 375° F. 20 minutes or until set. Chill. Sprinkle with nuts. Top with whipped cream. Garnish, if desired, with half cherries and whole nuts.
