CREAMY CHOCOLATE FROSTING

  • 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate, grated
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon fat
  • Salt
Cook chocolate, milk, and sugar together, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Then stir only enough to prevent burning. Cook until a little of the mixture dropped in cold water forms a soft ball (240° F.). Add vanilla, fat, and a few grains salt. Beat to proper consistency.
