- 1 cup butter
- 1½ cups sifted confectioners'
sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon grated orange rind

- 1 egg, unbeaten
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- ½ teaspoon salt

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla, orange
rind, and egg; mix well. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix until
blended. Drop from a teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake
at 375° for about 8 minutes or until delicately browned.
Sprinkle lightly with confectioners' sugar. |
