| POUND CAKE |

- 1 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 5 eggs
- 2 cups flour
|
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/8 teaspoon mace
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
|
|
|
Cream shortening and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time,
beating well after the addition of each egg. Add the flour, salt,
and mace. Add vanilla and beat thoroughly. Bake in a greased
loaf pan at 350° F. for 60 to 80 minutes. |
