The Ragdoll is the largest breed of domestic cat. Females often weigh up to fifteen pounds, and males often weigh as much as twenty pounds! A longhaired cat which originated in California in the 1960s, the Ragdoll is also known for its easy-going temperament. This breed of cat was reportedly named "Ragdoll" because they go completely limp and relaxed when they are picked up.
