In retaliation for Sanchez's capture and imprisonment, Felix is bound and lowered into a shark tank. The hungry shark bites off his left leg below the knee. Bond finds him, bearing a note from Sanchez that reads: "He disagreed with something that ate him."

Bond notices the carnation from Felix's wedding jacket on the floor.

Opening a temperature-controlled drawer, 007 rolls up his sleeves to rummage among the writhing maggots. Bags of cocaine are hidden beneath them.

Under pressure from the DEA to rein in his agent, M meets Bond at the Hemingway House and orders him to an assignment in Istanbul, Turkey. When Bond refuses, M revokes his licence to kill.

On the underwater CCTV, Krest's men notice a large manta ray, but it is actually a rubber sham, under which Bond is concealed in scuba gear.

Bond meets Bouvier at the Barrelhead Bar, only to realize that they are being watched by Sanchez's goons.

During the chaos, an unnamed patron tries to impale 007 with a swordfish.

At several points during the film, Sanchez is accompanied by a pet iguana wearing a jewel-encrusted collar. After Sanchez's death, Lupe, who hates the iguana, appropriates the collar for herself and wears it as a bracelet.

007 gets Sanchez's attention by accumulating a quarter of a million dollars of winnings at one of his blackjack tables.

At the Hotel de Swank the receptionist informs Bond that his uncle has arrived. It turns out to be Q, who has come to help.
