SATURN TRIVIA III

21) Which of Saturn's moons has strange red arcs that scientists are still struggling to explain?

Like graffiti sprayed by an unknown artist, unexplained reddish streaks arc across the surface of Tethys. The origin of the features and their reddish color is a mystery.

22) What did the Cassini probe discover?

On March 10, 2006, the probe found evidence of liquid water reservoirs that erupt in geysers on Enceladus. On September 20, 2006, it photographed a previously undiscovered planetary ring, outside the brighter main rings and inside the G and E rings. In March 2007, it sent back images of hydrocarbon seas near Titan's north pole, the largest of which is almost the size of the Caspian Sea.

23) What is the innermost moon of Saturn?

Pan is a small, walnut-shaped moon approximately 35 kilometres across and 23 km wide that orbits within the Encke Gap in Saturn's A Ring. It is a ring shepherd and is responsible for keeping the Encke Gap free of ring particles.
