Boston became a Pro Bowl selection with the Cardinals in 2001 after hauling in 98 receptions for 1598 yards and eight touchdowns.

In 1901, team owner Chris O'Brien bought used jerseys from the University of Chicago. He described the faded maroon clothing as "Cardinal red" and the team became the Racine Street Cardinals.

In 2015, Palmer engineered what many consider his best season. He threw for a franchise record 4,671 yards with 35 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, leading Arizona to a 13-3 regular season record and the NFC Championship game.

The 7th overall selection in the 1974 NFL Draft, Cain died of congenital heart failure, brought out by working out in extreme heat during training camp at Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri on his birthday in 1979. His number 88 was retired by the Cardinals.

In 1998, "Jake the Snake" led the Cardinals to an upset of the Dallas Cowboys for the franchise's first postseason victory since 1947.

In 1931, a committee of 12 leading football coaches led by Pop Warner met to determine the greatest football player of all time. Nevers finished in a tie with Red Grange for second place behind only Jim Thorpe. Warner actually picked Nevers first and noted: "Ernie Nevers was a football player without fault."

From 1974 to 1976, Jim Hart guided the Cardinals to three straight ten-plus-win seasons along with back-to-back division crowns in 1974 and 1975.

On October 1, 2006, Adrian Wilson returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown vs. the Atlanta Falcons.

On October 13, 1963, Charley Johnson passed for 428 yards in a 24-23 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In the 1977 Pro Bowl, Hart threw five interceptions, the most in the Pro Bowl's history.
