Rick Barry was known for his unorthodox but effective underhand free throw shooting technique. At the time of his retirement in 1980 his .900 free throw percentage ranked first in NBA history.

On October 29, 2018, against the Chicago Bulls, shooting guard Klay Thompson hit an NBA-record 14 threes to break teammate Stephen Curry's former mark of 13. Thompson scored 52 points in 27 minutes while making 14-for-24 of his threes and shooting 18-for-29 overall from the field. His 10 three-pointers in the first half tied Chandler Parsons' league record set in 2014, and Golden State made 17 threes in the first half to set the NBA record for a half.

Tom Meschery played alongside legend Wilt Chamberlain, to whom he later dedicated a poem. Meschery was the starting forward on the 1961-62 Philadelphia Warriors team in which Chamberlain scored 100 points. Meschery led the NBA in personal fouls in 1962 and he became the first foreign-born player to play in an NBA All-Star Game (1963). His #14 jersey was retired by the Warriors on October 13, 1967.

On November 24, 1960, Chamberlain snagged 55 rebounds in a game against the Boston Celtics and rival Bill Russell, setting one of the NBA's most unbreakable records.

The shortest player ever to play in the National Basketball Association, the 5 ft 3 in (1.60 m) Muggsy Bogues played two seasons with the Warriors, averaging 5.8 points (1997-98) and 5.1 points (1998-99) per game.

Power forward Joe Fulks was a low-efficiency shooter, holding the 9th worst career field goal percentage in NBA history, making only 30.2% of the shots he attempted. On March 18, 1948, he set an unfortunate record when he missed 42 of his 55 field goal attempts against the Providence Steamrollers.

Stephen Curry & Klay Thompson earned the nickname "Splash Brothers" in 2013-14 when they set the record for combined three-pointers in an NBA season with 484, a record they broke the following season (525), and again in 2015-16 (678).

In 2010-11, Stephen Curry's free throw percentage of .934 established a new Warriors single-season record, surpassing the previous mark of .924 set by Rick Barry in 1977-78. He also became the first Warriors player to lead the NBA in free throw percentage since Mark Price in 1996-97.

In 1986-87, Sleepy Floyd averaged 18.8 points and 10.3 assists, earning a spot on the NBA All-Star Team and setting a franchise record with 848 assists on the season.
