Harriet Lichtman is Marie's bridge partner and Frank's fantasy lover. In "The Mentor", a younger, former work colleague of Frank's pays a surprise visit to the house, and Frank's unusually warm behaviour toward the young man prompts Marie to question if Sam was Frank and Harriet's lovechild.

Debra's sister Jennifer comes to visit in "The Sister". During the visit, she announces that she is leaving her pot-smoking hippie nudist lifestyle to become a nun.

Robert asks Marie to iron his lucky suit for the interview, but she gets distracted by a commercial for a sports program Raymond is going to be on and leaves a huge burn mark on the back of Robert's jacket.

While breaking up an illegal rodeo, Robert is gored by a bull in the "upper thigh" (butt). The bull is later named Nestor and put in a petting zoo. It is there that Robert finally makes peace with the animal.

Robert thinks he's found the perfect girl in Angela, a trade lawyer who speaks four different languages--until Ray discovers that she eats flies. At first, Robert refuses to believe Ray until he goes to Angela's apartment and finds it filled with frogs.

Ray's crazy antics frequently end up with Debra getting frustrated and calling him an idiot.

When Ray accidentally freezes Ally's hamster to death in the ice cream box, he replaces him and hopes Ally won't notice. But Ally quickly discovers the truth, and the family is forced to hold a funeral for the deceased Pumpernickel.

Since Debra used to work in public relations, Frank and his lodge buddies offer to pay her to help get the Lodge back on its feet. But things go awry when Frank's "disgusting lodge buddies" (as Marie puts it) start admiring Debra for more than her bubbly personality.

In addition to owning a comic book store, Peter creates his own comic, Zombie Blood Chronicles, which never gains much support from his Presbyterian family.

When Ray came to Debra's apartment to fix the futon that he'd delivered a few days earlier, Debra "accidentally" made too much lemon chicken.
