Factions break out and court Michael to get what they want, with Oscar and Jim pushing for a new photocopier, while Pam, Stanley, and others want new chairs. They finally agree on the chairs to prevent Michael from earning a bonus by returning the surplus.

After researching which toy is likely to become the next Christmas craze, Dwight buys every Princess Unicorn in Scranton, explaining that he plans to sell the dolls to desperate parents for an enormous profit. Jim is skeptical, but watches numerous customers come in throughout the day, including Toby, who is on the verge of tears when he finds that Dwight has already sold the last doll.

In "Moroccan Christmas", Meredith gets so drunk at an office party that she sets her hair on fire. After Dwight puts out the fire with an extinguisher, Michael stages an intervention and tries to force Meredith into rehab.

In "Prince Family Paper", half of the office says Hilary Swank is hot, while the other half says she is not. At the end of the episode, Michael inadvertently breaks the tie when he sees the photo of Hilary on the wall and casually remarks that she is hot.

Dwight tries to teach fire safety by example, forcing all the doors closed and disabling the phones before setting a fire in an office trash can with a cigarette. During the subsequent panic, the copy machine is destroyed, Michael smashes a window to call for help, Kevin raids the snack machine, and Stanley collapses from a heart attack.

Inspired by Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Michael puts "golden tickets" into boxes of paper for clients to redeem for a 10% discount for the entire year. But the idea backfires when the company's largest client gets all five tickets, for a cumulative discount of 50%.

After becoming a wanted fugitive, Creed fakes his own death, only to be discovered living at the office in Ryan's old closet. Creed sings a song on the guitar for the office before being arrested.

Jim and Pam tell Dwight they are quitting to pursue Jim's dream of working in sports marketing, but Dwight fires them instead so he can give them hefty severance packages as a last gesture of friendship.
