Prior to his murder, Freddy was married to a woman named Loretta who discovered that her husband had a secret room in the basement with a collection of torture devices, newspaper clippings, and various bladed gloves. She promised not to tell, but Freddy strangled her anyway.

In the pilot episode of the TV series Freddy's Nightmares, Krueger gets an ice cream truck back into working order after he evades prison. Of course, before Freddy's new career really takes off, mob justice gets the better of him.
