With the final pick of the 1983 NBA draft, Philadelphia 76ers owner Harold Katz took 49-year-old Norman Horvitz out of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. There are different rumors about the connection between Katz and Horvitz, but they are commonly believed to be poker buddies.
Chiti was originally traded from the Cleveland Indians to the New York Mets for a "player to be named later," but after fifteen terrible games with the Mets, Chiti became that player and was shipped back to Cleveland. Chiti never played another major league game, spending two more years at Triple-A before retiring in 1964.
Plasman was notably the last player in the NFL to play a game without a football helmet. He did so in the 1940 NFL Championship game before the league mandated that helmets be worn by all players.
